Losing the Light
by Andrea Dunlop
Sarah's take
I wholeheartedly recommend *Losing the Light* for its poignant exploration of obsession and the complexities of female friendship. Dunlop beautifully captures the emotional turmoil of identity and belonging, making it a perfect read for anyone who has ever grappled with the shadows of their past and the allure of someone who embodies everything they desire.
About the book
While studying abroad in France, Brooke becomes obsessed with glamorous, enigmatic Sophie, whose hold over her proves both intoxicating and dangerous. Years later, when Sophie reappears with a desperate request, Brooke must confront the lingering power of their toxic friendship and the secrets that have haunted her ever since. A psychological exploration of obsession, manipulation, and the lengths we go to for those who captivate us.
